The Spelling bee final competition on National level was done on 21 July 2018 in Blantyre. All of Malawi's best schools took part.

In the entire Malawi, they only needed the best three learners to carry the Malawi national flag in Mombasa Kenya, where all African countries will be competing on a Continental level.

Fortunate enough out of the three required, Diversity Academy alone has produced two learners. Therefore, its only Diversity Academy and Namiwawa international that have produced Malawi's representatives.
